I'm a marine carpenter, which means I do woodwork for/on boats. However, we are not having any trouble retaining the Numeric Accuracy settings after changing from English to Metric units (or vice versa) if we enter the desired number ourselves. Yes, changing from English to Metric does assume the "default medium" unit accuracy for the other units. Regardless, it's not retaining my settings, and even if I toggle the Data Scale to get more appropriate Numeric Accuracy values, if I want something different I have to OK out, then re-enter the Project Settings and change the Tech 0625" so it appears that bonzai is defaulting to the Medium scale default Numeric Accuracy regardless of the Data Scale set for the project. > Changing to Medium scale gets defaults of 1/16" or 1 mm respectively. 01", then changing back to Miniature gets me. 01 mm.Ĭhanging back to English while in Miniature sets the Numeric accuracy to. 1 mm, and then switching back to Miniature changes the Numeric Accuracy default to. If I change to Data Scale to Small then the Numeric Accuracy changes to. 0001" and change to Metric, the Numeric Accuracy defaults to 1 mm. if I'm working in English units at Miniature scale with Numeric Accuracy set to. If I switch the project's Data Scale after switching the working units then the Numeric Accuracy defaults to a much more appropriate value. Out of curiosity, what types of projects do you work on? If this is something that you need to do frequently, then we will see what we can do to make this easier. We have a lot of users that will use English Units for one project, and Metric Units for another - but we are not aware of other users who frequently switch back and forth with the same project. Not only are my previous settings for these units not 'sticky', bonzai doesn't even presume that I want approximately the same level of accuracy when I switch units and default the Numeric Accuracy accordingly.Ģ) When I click OK & return to the drawing window my project is diminished to a dot, so I have to double-click middle mouse, then re-adjust to the view I had when I started to change units.ģ) And then I discover that although my units of measure have changed, the numeric accuracy has not - even though I re-set it - so I have to go back into Project Settings/Working Units, set the numeric accuracy again, and this time when I click OK the setting is actually in effect.Ĥ) In That Other Program regardless of the project's working units if I enter a dimension in the dialog box and follow it with "mm" or " " " or "cm" or " ' " then the dimension is entered in those units - so I only have to change working units if I need to check a dimension.Īm I doing something wrong? Are there shortcuts I should know about? I work a lot with both English & Metric units in the same project.ġ) It seems that every time I go to Project Settings/Working Units to change between English & Metric I then also have to reset the Numeric Accuracy.
